Coalition for ePayment Break Fast Series 1 (23 Feb 2012)
Coalition for ePayment is aimed at complementing other initiatives by the Central Bank of Nigeria to achieve a cashless economy in Nigeria. The coalition would act as a catalyst for the propagation and promotion of e-Payment across e-Commerce channels, particularly through consumer education on a sustainable basis. The primary objectives of the coalition included: educating various professionals and trade associations in Nigeria on the advantages of government’s cashless policy; promoting consumer education and awareness for e-Payment and its benefits; inducing and promoting the use of e-Payment in all the various market segments

Public sector agencies can benefit immensely from card acceptance. When check and cash transactions are reduced, it yields immediate cost savings on check deposit or lockbox fees, bounced checks and armored car service. Furthermore, with Card acceptance the cost of labor to process transactions, mail and deposit float, and reconciliation and shrinkage will be reduced. MasterCard acceptance can also be helpful in reducing delinquencies..
